Thanks for four wonderful years!

JAMTOWN opened our facility in July 2014 with the vision of bringing an industry leading basketball facility to the community. Oakland has an extensive and proud basketball history but needed a central place to serve aspiring players and their families as well as coaches in the community. Oakland also needed a venue to draw youth teams to the City. And, beyond basketball, our community needed another location to hold community service events such as providing food for the homeless among us, hosting free holiday events for families who could use an assist, and supporting drives to raise goods for those in need in places like Puerto Rico. JAMTOWN launched our Oakland facility to serve these community needs.

JAMTOWN thanks everyone who supported us over the past four years. JAMTOWN’s staff — including Sam, Tessa, D’Marcus, Joseph, Benny, Ryan, Jaelon, Jordan, Dom and Josh among others — shared a vision of being “A Team Serving the People.” JAMTOWN is proud of their efforts to support our community minded, family-oriented sports facility. JAMTOWN also thanks the basketball community including the many tournament directors, coaches, leagues, players, referees, families and independent vendors who supported JAMTOWN. Through the efforts of our team and the support of the basketball community, JAMTOWN became the place to watch, play and train in the Bay Area.

We are now giving a new ownership team with an extensive Oakland heritage a chance to bring even more offerings to the Oakland community. While there will be many new faces in the building, we are pleased that the new group will include some familiar faces, including Sam Moses and other members of the previous JAMTOWN staff.
